dogs. So much has been said about Nigerians who own private jets. Perhaps it
won’t hurt if we take a brief look at some of these Nigerians that own ships.
Orji Uzor Kalu
Nigeria-born Forbes billionaire
and President of Slok Group, Orji Uzor Kalu falls in this category. He got his start in
business at age 19 after being expelled from a Nigerian university for spearheading
a series of student riots. He borrowed $35 from his mother and started trading
commodities like palm oil, rice and sugar. He diversified into furniture
manufacturing and transportation and became a millionaire by the time he was
20. He hit the big time in the early 80s when the Nigerian military government
awarded him lucrative contracts to import and supply arms and ammunition to

Ifeanyi Uba
Ifeanyi Uba-a graduate of business administration from
the amadu bello university, owner of Capital Oil and Gas falls among this
category, it is rumored that he has two vessels worth millions of dollars. In
2001 uba founded capital oil and gas Nigeria limited which involve in the
retailing of petroleoum products and haulage haulage business. It is on record
that he has one of the largest oil dept in Nigeria , with the capacity to berth
three to six oil vessel. His company own the largest fleet of marine of marine
vessels, barges, and tug boats in Nigeria, including oil vessels.
Jim Ovia
Jim ovia- im Ovia, 58, made his fortune
providing financial services to Nigeria’s richest middle class. He is the
founder and largest individual shareholder of Zenith Bank, a $4.5 billion
(Market Cap) financial services conglomerate after a successful stint in
finance in the United States. He is the chairman and largest
individual shareholder with a stake of slightly more than 9% stake. He also
owns prime real estate across Nigeria, and mobile telecom operator Visafone,
which has 3 million subscribers. He owns a yatch called Aquamarine.
President
of Zenon Petroleum and Gas, Femi Otedola, MD of Zenith Bank, Jim Ovia and
business mogul, Aliko Dangote are said to be getting set to float another boat
club and it will be exclusively for top corporate players in Nigeria and will
attract N10 million as membership fee.
Kola aluko-----47 year old business
tycoon, kola aluko is a Nigerian energy
business magnet , he is the co chief officer and an exexcutive director
of Atlantic energy, an indigenous private up stream oil and gas company
focused on independent exploration and production participation in Nigeria.
Also has interest in African infrastructure development and aviation. He is a
yatch owner which cost about 50 million dollars!
